Chapter 24  Stanley was flabbergasted. It took him a moment to process what Wilbur had just said and burst out laughing.  He gave Wilbur a murderous stare. “Young man, do you know who this guy here is? He’s Lightning Hank, the head of the Black Tiger Gang! They run Seechertown’s underground scene. I think you don’t understand what’s going on here.”  “The Black Tiger Gang? Lightning Hank? Wilbur asked calmly. He then added, “I’ve never heard of them.”  Those words made Stanley lose his, cool. Just as he was about to shout back at Wilbur, Lightning Hank said, “What a stubborn little guy! You don’t know who I am? I guess I’ll just have to show you today.”  Faye hurried to say, “Sir, please don’t! You just want money, right? I can give you as much of it as your want. Please don’t hurt us. We can talk this through.”  Lightning Hank retorted coldly. “Why would I need to talk things through with you? You think that the Cape Consortium is that powerful, do you? You’re in Seechertown, and I’m the boss here! You might be loaded, but will you be alive to spend it?”  Wilbur glanced at Lightning Hank calmly and said, “I wouldn’t get any ideas if I were you. I can effortlessly. Just be good. You’ll get hurt if you don’t listen to me.”  kill  you  -Faye panicked upon hearing those words.  Wilbur had always been aware of the extent of his abilities. Why was he provoking Lightning Hank and Stanley like that all of a sudden? Did he have a death wish?  Lightning Hank broke out laughing when he heard that. He shook his head and said, “I’ve never heard anyone talk down to me like this in the past two decades. Honestly, I’m rather surprised.”  “Let her go, or I’ll have more surprises in store for you,” Wilbur said calmly.  Lightning Hank’s gaze flashed coldly, and he said in a solemn tone, ‘Chop his legs off. See if he can still act this cocky after that.”  “Yes, sir.” One of his men walked toward Wilbur, brandishing a big cleaver.  Faye panicked. “Please don’t get violent! I’ll give you all the money you want! Let’s talk this through! The Cape Consortium has all the money in the world!”  “I’ll take the money, but I’m going to teach this guy a lesson as well,” Lightning Hank scoffed coldly.  Anyone who humiliated him or his men would have to pay. It was no longer about the money.  Stanley was excited, his gaze flashing wildly.  Everything that had happened to him was caused by that b*stard. Even chopping him up would not be enough to make him feel better.  Just then, Wilbur’s phone rang. He took a look and asked, “Can I take a call?”  Lightning Hank raised a hand for his men to pause, staring at Wilbur smugly. “I’ll give you a chance. You can call the cops or whomever you want. Let’s see if anyone wants to meddle in this and get on my bad. side.”  Wilbur shook his head with a smile and then accepted the call.  *Mister Penn, this is Gordon Grayson. My father would like to invite you over for a drink. I’m In front of your house, but no one’s home.”  Change 24  2/2  Wilbur fell silent. “I’m out running some errands. It might be a while.”  “What errands? Do you need help?” Gordon was trying hard to show that he was sorry to Wilbur  Wilbur glanced at Faye. “My employee’s been kidnapped.”  “What? By whom? Where?” Gordon flew into a rage at once.  Wilbur replied calmly, “Copperhead Factory. It’s up north.”  “Mister Penn, please hold out for a while. I’ll be there in ten minutes,” Gordon said hurriedly before hanging up  At the same time, a member of the special services brigade received an order. They gathered within three minutes, armed up, and headed off to Copperhead Factory at once with no less than thirty military vehicles.  Wilbur hung up and then turned to look at Lightning Hank. “Can you wait ten minutes? Someone might want to see you.”  Lightning Hank broke out into peals of laughter. “Ten minutes? How about I give you half an hour? I’d like to see who has the nerve to get involved in this.” 

Chapter 23  Wilbur said slowly, “Yes, speaking. What’s the matter?”  “Head up north to Copperhead Factory. There’s something I need your help with,” Faye said.  it  Wilbur frowned. He immediately understood that something had happened to Faye. “Got it. I’ll be right there. I’ll take care of it.”  At the same time, over at house number one.  Benjamin ordered the personal chef to prepare a hearty meal. He then said to his son, “Invite Wilbur over. I’d like to have a drink with him tonight.”  Gordon nodded and headed out toward Wilbur’s house.  At the factory, Faye hung up the call and let out a deep sigh.  She could tell that Wilbur knew something had happened to her. That was because she had never addressed Wilbur by his full name in regular conversations before. Moreover, Wilbur’s response was clear that he wanted her to let him handle it.  She just hoped that Wilbur understood how dire the situation was and made sufficient preparation instead of coming alone.  Just then, Lightning Hank glanced at Stanley. “When’s the money coming in?”  Stanley turned to Faye and shouted at her, “When are you sending the money  y over?”  Faye said in a low voice, “As you know, I might be able to move Cape’s funds around, but one billion dollars isn’t a small amount. Ill need another two directors to sign their approval along with mine. The earliest will have to be tomorrow morning.”  Stanley knew that, of course. He just needed Lightning Hank to understand as well.  Taking a sip of his beer, Stanley turned to Lightning Hank with a flattering smile. “That’s what’s happening here, Big Brother. Don’t worry. Now that we have her, we’ll get the money for sure.”  Lightning Hank placed a slice of lamb into the sizzling grill with a sneer. “Do you think I’m worried? I run Seechertown. You came looking for me. I don’t care who you guys are, but that money is mine one way or another. Otherwise, you’re all dead.”  “Yes, of course,” Stanley said smilingly.  Meanwhile, Faye was getting more and more worried.  Although she was a businesswoman, she had also heard of Lightning Hank before.  Rumors had it that he had joined a gang in Seechertown at a very young age. He later formed his own Black Tiger Gang with his power and courage alone and ran the underground scene.  It was said that Lightning Hank had eyes everywhere, from the army to the mafia. No one dared to mess with him.  Faye had never imagined that she would end up in his hands.  The Cape Consortium was one of the top dogs of Seechertown, but the Black Tiger Gang was not to be underestimated either. It was also a force to be reckoned with.  Time ticked by slowly. Although Faye maintained a calm expression, she was actually panicking inside.  Lightning Hank ate slowly. He was calm and in control of the situation.  312  Just then, footsteps could be heard coming from outside. Faye’s chest tightened.  Wilbur was seen being dragged by two burly men into the factory.  Faye  saw that Wilbur was alone and panicked at once. “Why did you come here alone?”  Wilbur saw that Faye was all right and smiled. “I can handle them by myself.”  Faye sighed helplessly. Stanley was definitely going to kill Wilbur for what he had done to him. What should she do now?  The sight of Wilbur made Stanley perk up at once. He got up and walked to Wilbur with a murderous expression. “You gigolo, Miss Yves fired me because of you! What are you going to do about that?”  He glanced smugly at the several dozen accomplices behind him as he spoke.  Wilbur said slowly. “Let Faye go before you screw up further. Il let this slide if you guys apologize to her.”  Chapp 

Chapter 22  122 “What am I doing?” Stanley slammed his fork onto the table, his expression was murderous. “You ruined my future and let me be punished by the overseas headquarters. What do you think I’m doing? Stanley got angrier and angrier as he spoke. He had been fired by the Cape Consortium, which pretty much made it impossible for him to survive in the industry. On top of that, he knew how ruthless and cruel the people in the Cape Consortium’s internal security were. Cape Consortium’s internal security department was just a label. They were a group of heartless and ruthless demons. Besides being in charge of the Cape Consortium’s security system, they were also responsible for punishing staff members who committed severe mistakes. Most importantly, they were incredibly powerful, specializing in handling people who owed the Cape Consortium money or refused to pay up. Having been one of the Cape Consortium’s higher–ups in the past, Stanley knew how terrifying those people were. Every person or establishment who owed Cape money would end up suffering horribly in the face of the Cape Consortium’s powerful strength, so much so that they would hand over the money obediently. He did not know why Faye had called them just because he tried to fire a low–level employee. The overseas headquarters were surprisingly stern and threatening as well, ordering him to return and await punishment. With what those people were capable of, he’d at least lose a limb or two even if he survived. However, since he had already been fired, he decided to finish what he started. He enlisted the help of the Black Tiger Gang and hatched a plan with them. His plan was to kidnap Faye and blackmail her for a fortune before escaping to another smaller country to live out the rest of his days. Of course, he would not let Wilbur go that easily, either. Wilbur needed to be taught a hard lesson or killed even. Either way, the Black Tiger Gang was going to help out. The Black Tiger Gang was Seechertown’s biggest gang. Even if the Cape Consortium was powerful, these gangsters did not care in the slightest. They had taken up the deal at once, agreeing to take half the split. Thus, Faye was kidnapped. Faye saw the murderous look on Stanley’s face as well as the hooligans around him. She knew that she was going to have to play nice or her life would be in danger. Faye said slowly. “Stanley, I know I went a little too far back then. Tell me what you want. I’ll make sure to fulfill your wish to the best of my abilities.” Stanley smiled wickedly. He got up and walked to Faye with a smirk. “There is something I want. One billion dollars. Transfer it to the account I’ve designated.” Faye replied at once, “I can do that. I don’t have that much money, but I can definitely move some of the Cape Consortium’s money around,” Getting out alive in one piece was most Important. As long as she could leave, the Cape Consortium was definitely powerful enough to track Stanley down and get the money back from him. Stanley let out a laugh. “At least you’re smart. Also, give that guy from the other day a call. Have him come over right now. I’d like to teach him a lesson.” 212 “He has nothing to do with this. You wanted money, and I’ve agreed to give it to you,” Faye said worriedly. Stanley roared, “Nothing to do with this? He’s the reason why I ended up like this! I don’t care who he is! Even if he’s one of your gigolos, I’ll still have to teach him a lesson.” Faye did not know what to do. The last thing she wanted was for Wilbur to be involved in something so dangerous. Her mind raced as she thought of a way out. Yet just then, the bald man stood up in the middle of his meal and walked up to her. He drew a dagger and held it to her face. A gust of cold air hit her, and Faye let out a tremble. The bald man said coldly, “I’m Lightning Hank. You might not have heard of me, but I’ve lost count of the people I’ve killed. Get that guy over here, or I’ll slash your pretty face and bed you.” All hope was lost for Faye. She had no other choice. “Hand me my phone,” she demanded sullenly. Lightning Hank signaled his men to hand Faye her phone. “You can tell him to call the cops or come with help. We’ll see who dies first.” Faye said, “I won’t let him call the cops. Don’t worry.” She called Wilbur’s number, and it connected immediately. “Wilbur Penn, are you there?” Wilbur felt that something was off right away. Why did Faye’s tone sound somewhat different? 

Chapter 21  Chapter 21  1/2  Upon hearing those words, Yvonne almost pa**ed out again due to her outrage.  After a short pause, she replied helplessly, “Help me schedule a meeting with their person–in -charge. I’d like to have a talk with him.” She then hung up the call.  She knew very well that the fallout from the failed wedding was starting to show. It was unclear what else lay ahead. All she could do was to face them as they came.  Yvonne’s parents were nothing but gloomy as well. They were still angry at Wilbur, believing that it was Wilbur who pushed their family into a corner.  Evening came.  Faye drove home alone cheerfully, thinking about what she was going to wear at home.  Perhaps she should buy a few more nightgowns. After all, she had worn all the ones she had.  Should her new nightgowns be even sexier?  Suddenly, a black MPV overtook her and clipped her car.  Faye cursed her bad luck, then got out of the car to take a look.  Just then, several burly men got out of the MPV. They dragged Faye into their car without warning and drove off at once.  Faye was terrified but did her best to stay calm.  None of them looked like nice people. Faye kept her voice calm as she asked, “What are you doing?”  “We’re just following orders. You’ll get it once we arrive,” one of the men said coldly.  Faye frowned. “You’re breaking the law. There will be consequences.”  ||  “Breaking the law?” The leader of the group of men burst out laughing. “We do this for a living. Don’t bother wasting your breath.”  Faye had a feeling that something awful was going to happen. These men had a clear target. They probably knew who she was.  Only truly desperate people would dare to kidnap someone of her status.  Faye fell silent for a while. She slowly reached into her bag and rummaged for her phone as she said, “You can just tell me if you want something. Don’t cross the line. You might not be  Chapter 21  able to fix this when it’s too late.  וי  2/2  The leader of the group slapped Faye hard on her face. She cried out in pain and clutched her cheek.  The man grabbed Faye’s bag from her and took her phone away.  “What are you trying to do?” Faye roared angrily.  The man said coldly, “Another word, and I’ll cut your tongue off.”  A sense of dread washed over Faye, and she did not say another word. She kept an eye on the path outside the window, her mind racing.  A short while later, the car had stopped at an abandoned factory.  The men brought Faye out of the car. All she could see was a bald man sitting at a table, having a hot pot with a few other people. Behind him were more than ten burly men. They were all wearing fierce expressions.  Faye got out of the car and saw one of the men the bald guy was eating with. “It’s you?”  “Yes, it’s me,” Stanley Lowes smirked as he put a piece of meat in his mouth.  Faye was dragged in front of them. The bald man glanced at her. “Is she the one?”  Stanley smiled. “That’s right. CEO of Cape Consortium’s Kardon Province branch, Faye Yves.  She’s loaded.”  Faye frowned. “What are you doing, Stanley?”  Act Fast: Free Bonus Time is Running Out! 

Chapter 20  1/3 Chapter 20 It was Wilbur’s turn to fall silent. It took a while before he said, “So, I guess you know what happened, then.” “Yes.” “I hope you won’t blame me,” Wilbur said apologetically. Chelsea said weakly, “I don’t blame you. They got what they deserved. Yvonne called me earlier to get me to approach you.” Wilbur fell silent for a moment and immediately understood what she meant. “Well, come here, then. I’ve got something to talk to you about, too.” “I know they just want to use me, and you know that too,” Chelsea said. Wilbur nodded. “I know, but you should know that I see you and the Willow family as separate entities. I’d like you to work as an a**istant to Faye Yves. You can learn some new things. This has nothing to do with the Willows.‘ “Can you let me think about it? I don’t know what to do right now.” He could clearly hear Chelsea’s anxiety through the phone. Wilbur frowned. Chelsea was still a member of the Willow family, after all. This might cause her a lot of stress. 1 The Willows wanted to use her to get closer to him. Meanwhile, he saw something in her and wanted to help her out. Based on his understanding of Chelsea, she would have a hard time accepting the fact that she was being used. That was why she hesitated. Wilbur paused for a moment, then said slowly, “That’s alright. Just think about it. You can call me anytime.” “Alright.” Chelsea ended the call and Wilbur finally let out a long sigh. Faye refilled his cup and said smugly, “Looks like things didn’t work out, eh?” “What’s that supposed to mean?” Wilbur glared at Faye. Faye smiled lightly without a care. She seemed…. happy? Wilbur shook his head. “I’m going to get some rest. Do whatever you need to.“Chapter 20 2/3 He then fled to his room and began meditating. This strange lady sure was hard to handle. Yvonne, on the other hand, went home and called her sister. She fell terribly ill after tha Jackson and Miranda quickly called the doctor, who ran a quick check–up. The doctor said that Yvonne was just too stressed. He prescribed her some medicine and left. Jackson and Miranda looked at each other, at a loss for what to do. All they felt was a deep sense of regret. If they had known that Wilbur was the boss of Cape Consortium, they would have never treated him that way. Rather, they would have treated him like a god. “It’s all that idiot’s fault. Why did he hide his identity? What are we going to do now?” Miranda still ended up blaming Wilbur. Jackson shook his head bitterly. “We’re done for. That guy’s going to get back at us for sure. The Willow family is doomed.” “We’ve still got Chelsea, haven’t we? I’ve seen Wilbur sneaking looks at her. I’m sure she’ll be able to wrap him around her finger if she wants to. That way, he’ll still be our son–in–law.” Jackson lamented, “Chelsea’s far too stubborn. It won’t be easy.” Just then, Yvonne’s phone on the bedside table started ringing. She picked the call up weakly. “I have bad news, Miss Willow.” “What happened?” Yvonne asked weakly. “The bank just called. They said they’re not renewing our loan for three billion dollars and want us to pay them back before the deadline.” “What?” Yvonne’s face paled at once. The Willow family did have over ten billion dollars in a**ets, but it did not all belong to them. They had a loan of five to six billion dollars from several banks. It was all thanks to that money that the company could operate normally. Demanding that they repay the loan and not renew it would cause problems for sure. “Tell them that we won’t have any money to repay them if they don’t renew the loan!” Yvonne roared. Chapter 20 3/3 “They said that if we don’t pay them on time, they’ll have to take the legal route and put the company’s a**ets up for auction,” the caller replied in a cautious tone. 

v Chapter 19  1/3  Chapter 19  Yvonne was standing in front of the door, teary–eyed and clad in plain clothes as she sobbed, “Miss Yves, please let me see Wilbur.”  Faye glanced at the couch. Wilbur sighed and nodded.  Yvonne ran in at once, falling to her knees in front of Wilbur and sobbing, “Wilbur, I know I’ve messed up. Will you please forgive me?”  “I made myself clear enough during the wedding,” Wilbur sipped his tea calmly.  Yvonne wriggled up next to Wilbur, hugged his leg, and sobbed even harder. “Can’t you give me one more chance? I was just blinded. I’ll change. I promise!”  Yvonne knew that the Willows were over the second Wilbur revealed his identity.  They had humiliated and offended the owner of Cape Consortium International. Someone of his power had a terrifying influence on the industry.  There might not be any companies willing to work with the Willows anymore after this incident. If Wilbur were out to get them, the Willow family would lose everything in the blink of an eye.  The Willow family could not afford to have the Cape Consortium attack them, given how powerful it was. Cape Consortium was like a huge mountain, whereas the Willow family was merely a lump of soil at its foot.  She could not think of any way to defend herself from Cape Consortium’s attacks. All she could do was beg for Wilbur’s forgiveness so that the Willow family would be able to survive.  Wilbur realized what Yvonne was worried about and said calmly, “Whatever happened was all in the past. I won’t do anything to Willow Corp. Don’t worry.”  “Really?” Yvonne lifted her head, looking pitiful.  1  Wilbur frowned. “You don’t need to act all weak and needy to me. I told you that neither of us should regret this. I won’t take revenge on the Willows. You should leave.”  Yvonne knew that it would be impossible to get Wilbur back in her life.  She was happy enough as long as Wilbur did not get back at the Willows.  Wiping away her tears, Yvonne said, “Thank you so much. I’m sorry.”  Yvonne got to her feet, bowing before she left reluctantly.  Chapter 19  2/3  After she was gone, Faye resumed her seat next to Wilbur and whispered, “Yvonne’s got some pretty good acting skills.”  “Yeah, but it’s alright. We’ll live our own separate lives from now. I don’t think I’ll see her anymore,” Wilbur said calmly.  Faye smiled. “I don’t know. I have a feeling you might meet each other again.”  “Did you do something to Willow Corp?” Wilbur looked at Faye.  Faye hurried to wave her hands. “No, I didn’t! It’s just a feeling I have.”  Wilbur raised his brows and smiled. “Alright. Let’s not talk about her anymore. Let’s talk about something else.”  “What is it?”  “I’ve found you a personal a**istant. I hope you can teach her well.”  “A girl?”  “Yup.”  “Who is it?”  “Her name’s Chelsea Willow.”  “Chelsea Willow? Yvonne’s sister.”  “That’s right.”  Faye went silent for some time before finally speaking up, “I’m sure whoever you pick must be pretty good, Boss.”  Wilbur smiled. “Don’t overthink things. She was the only person who was nice to me in the Willow family. She’s very kind. Guide her well. She might be a future prodigy.”  “Since it’s your decision, I’m fine with it.” Yvonne beamed as she refilled Wilbur’s mug but seemed to be hiding something behind that smile.  Wilbur feigned ignorance and took out his phone to make a call.  “Chelsea? Are you there?”  A pause later, the phone rang with a voice. “I’m at a hotel.”  “Come down to house number eighteen in Castlebury. There’s something I’d like to discuss with you.”  Chapter 19  There was a long pause, and Wilbur began to frown.  Sure enough, Chelsea said, “Yvonne just called me. 

Chapter 18  2/2 A while later, only the Willow family was left in the banquet hall, trembling in their boots. Even the Woods family had left. Yvonne felt her vision darken and she promptly fell over, unconscious. Jackson and Miranda hurried to help their daughter up. “Are you alright, Yvonne? Yvonne?” Over on another end. Wilbur and Faye returned to house number eighteen, where Faye brewed Wilbur a cup of tea. Wilbur took a sip and nodded at Faye. He seemed to be praising the tea but also seemed to be suggesting something more. Faye sat down next to him. “Boss, what do you plan to do next?” “I’ve done everything that needs to be done,” Wilbur said. Faye frowned, “We’re now in control of Woods Corporate. It can be said now that Cape Consortium is the boss of Woods Corporate now. That would make you Woods Corporate’s boss as well. How are we going to run this company?” “You can handle that. I’m not good with business,” Wilbur said. Faye got straight to the point. “I’ve outlined a proposal on Woods Corporate’s handover. If you don’t have any special requests, I’ll just proceed with it.” Wilbur smiled. “Ho ho ho. You’re truly meticulous. Keep up the good work. I won’t meddle with the business end of things.” “Got it, Boss.” Faye refilled Wilbur’s tea. As she bent down, the collar of her dress fell to reveal her cleavage. Just then, someone rang the bell. Feeling curious, Faye went to answer the door. “It’s you?” Faye frowned. 

Chapter 17 Chapter 17Gordon looked at his daughter. “What’s going on?”“Grandpa didn’t take any medicine,” Susie said weakly.1/2Gordon sprang to his feet, his expression dark. “What about his test results, then?”Susie lowered her head. “The test results are real. Grandpa said that it was Wilbur who treated him, and his body only got better thanks

Chapter 16  1/2 Chapter 16 “He has broken the law, so he has lost all rights to be the director of Woods Corporate.” ” Faye made a wave, and her secretary came forth with a file that she pa**ed to Yvonne. After that, she announced in a low voice, “Did you really think that Blake truly loved you? You’re wrong. He had a divorce statement drafted before you even got married, and he’s planning to usurp Willow Corp after that. Open your eyes and take a good look!” Yvonne opened the file in disbelief.. Marriage, shareholding, taking up equity, and divorce. Anyone could see what those documents meant. Yvonne’s hands trembled as she shook her head in horror. “This can’t be! There’s no way this is true!” “If you don’t believe me, go on and continue going out with him. See if that gets you anywhere.” Faye only felt nothing but brutal satisfaction at the look of terror and shock on Yvonne’s face. “Blake, please tell me this isn’t true.” Yvonne turned to Blake weakly. At that moment, Blake had lost his senses. He could not accept the fact that Woods Corporate was being taken over by someone else just like that. Yvonne was the last of his priorities. “Stop bugging me!” Blake bellowed. He took out his phone to call the company and ignored Yvonne completely. Yvonne’s face paled. Judging from his attitude, it was clear that Faye was telling the truth. A sense of hopelessness and dread came over Yvonne, sapping her of all her strength. Jackson and Miranda saw that and rushed forward to hold their daughter up. They were also wearing expressions of shock and terror. What happened that day was completely out of their expectations. Blake made a few calls. Soon after that, his phone clattered to the floor. Woods Corporate was now controlled by Cape Consortium, and most of their employees were undergoing an internal investigation. He knew he was done for. Chapter 16 2/2 The guests‘ expressions were solemn. That was truly a big deal. Wilbur Penn, whom the Willow family had kicked out, turned out to be the owner of Cape International, and Yvonne and Blake had gone out of their way to ridicule him. Faye’s words made everyone present realize that there was a scheme against Woods Corporate, and Blake had no idea of everything until that point. As for Yvonne, Faye’s expose just now made it clear that the entire wedding was just another ploy. Yvonne was played by Blake, and Blake was played by Cape Consortium. All of that happened because Yvonne had kicked Wilbur out of the Willow family. The crowd stole glances in Wilbur’s direction every now and then with a wary look in their eyes. Wilbur returned to his seat to enjoy the show, smiling at how great everything had just played out. Gordon’s expression was solemn. Wilbur was the owner of Cape International. Someone holding that much power would have no need to get close to the Grayson family for anything at all. Could there have been a mistake? Just as he was lost in thought, Susie barged into the hall and rushed to her father. “Dad, we’ve got it wrong,” Susie wheezed.
