Chapter 553 +15 BONUS  Outside the door, Kirk was just about to drive off when Jude rushed out of the Collinses‘ residence with Eddy’s help. Kirk’s eyes narrowed. In that short moment, Jude managed to reach the car and started knocking on the window. Kirk tilted his chin, signaling for the driver to open the door. The driver got out of the car and opened the door. Looking at Kirk inside the car, Jude smiled. “Kirk, do you mind if we get a ride in your car?” “Of course not. Please do get in, Uncle Jude.” Kirk extended a hand to help Jude into the car. Once Jude was settled in, Eddy got into the front passenger seat. After he was settled in as well, Eddy hurriedly asked, “Uncle Kirk, what was all that just now? What happened to Caroline?” When Eddy had heard that Jane was involved in an abduction and murder case and that the target was Caroline, his heart had started beating wildly. Now, he couldn’t help but ask Kirk about it. Kirk expended all his effort to control his expression. He said indifferently, “I’m not sure myself. From what the police said, Jane got more than ten of her bodyguards to try and kill Caroline. It should be something like that, I think?” “Then Caroline must be in a lot of danger now. No, this won’t do.” Eddy took out his phone. “I have to look for her. She should stay at our hospital.” The hospital under Morrison Corp was the best in all of Easton. As Eddy made his phone call, Jude spoke up. “Kirk, why didn’t you tell us something so big had happened?” “I only just found out.” Jude asked, “Is that so? Why does it sound to me like you knew about it much earlier?” 1/3 +15 BONUS “Uncle Jude, you must be joking. I’m not a fortune teller.” Kirk answered so smoothly that there was no trace of anything amiss. Jude was still worried about Caroline’s condition, so he didn’t keep asking about it. After a long while, Eddy finally ended his call. He let out a heavy breath. “Grandpa, she’s fine. I just asked. The hospital said that they had given Caroline a sedative, so she’s currently unconscious. She should wake up tomorrow, so you don’t have to worry.” Jude glanced at Kirk and said with a chuckle, “Am I the only one worried? Aren’t you worried too?” These words were directed at Eddy. In response, Eddy angled his body to face the two men in the back seat, his expression strange. “Grandpa, why would I be worried about her? But regardless of anything, she took care of me for eight whole years. Of course, I hope that she’ll be fine.” His eyebrow twitched. “Kirk, are you alright?” Jude asked, looking at Kirk. Kirk only smiled. “I’m fine.” Right then, Eddy’s voice came again. “If you ask me, Caroline’s husband is really useless. If he had any capabilities at all, he wouldn’t have let her get hurt. But she still treats him like such a treasure.” Eddy kept nagging, unaware of the conflict going on behind him. Hearing Eddy’s words, Jude glanced at Kirk again. Still, Kirk’s expression remained indifferent the whole time, completely unaffected by the words. After a long time, Eddy got tired of talking when no one responded to him. He shut his mouth. Then, Jude spoke up again. “Kirk, I’ve always wanted to ask you something. It seems I have the chance now. “Why did you choose to partner with Collins Group? Although they’re in the entertainment industry and indeed take up a lot of the market share, I remember you saying that you like to work alone.” 

Chapter 552  +15 BONUS  “Sir, she’s not upstairs either.”  The police captain frowned as he looked at Howard. “Mr. Collins, may I ask where your wife is?”  Howard replied, “I don’t know.”  “Please cooperate with us in this investigation.”  “I really don’t know.”  “Then when was the last time you saw your wife?”  “Yesterday.” Howard’s voice was trembling as he said this.  “So you mean that she hasn’t been back since yesterday?” The police officer glanced at Howard.  “Do you know what she went out to do yesterday?”  “I don’t.”  The second officer said, “Yesterday, your wife went out and abducted Ms. Caroline Evans…”  Howard’s face paled at those words.  Enraged, he raised his voice. “I told you that I don’t know anything I don’t! Do you have any proof?  You’re just slandering her!”  “We do have proof,” the policeman said calmly.  “Yesterday, we arrested more than ten bodyguards under the Collins family’s employ. According  to their statements, they were following your wife’s orders to cause harm to Ms. Evans-”  “Stop talking!” Howard cut off the police officer in a rage.  “Stop talking. I don’t know about any of this. I don’t know anything!”  The police officer was silent as he regarded Howard for several minutes.  Then, he waved a hand and said, “If that’s the case, we won’t disturb you here any further. If you  have any news about your wife, please contact us immediately.”  That said, the police captain led his team away.  1/3  fight at  Howard.  “Mr. Collins,” Aiden started, “has there been some kind of misunderstanding here?”  Aiden’s voice brought a teetering Howard back to himself. He was agitated as he whirled his head around to stare at Kirk.  “Mr. Kirk, I really don’t know anything about this.‘  Kirk’s gaze was dark and grim, like a churning sea at midnight.  Howard was suffering immense pressure as he walked forward to stand before Kirk. As he approached Kirk, he felt a sense that his death was coming terrifyingly closer.  Howard threw himself at Kirk’s feet, letting go of his pride.  Kirk let out a short bark of laughter as he placed his hand on Howard’s head and pressed down with great force.  Howard’s body was trembling. “Mr. Kirk …”  “It seems you’ve forgotten the agreement between us completely.”  “I haven’t!” Howard rushed to defend himself.  He explained, “I really didn’t know about my wife and Ms. Evans. I really didn’t know… Mr. Kirk, please give me another chance. I will discipline my wife!”  Kirk stood up and glared at Howard. “I came here today to tell you that our partnership is over.”  Howard trembled even more violently now. He was like a dog as he circled Kirk’s legs in his arms. Mr. Kirk, don’t do this. I’m really innocent. I don’t know anything  Η  Kirk lowered his head to observe Howard, who was still pleading desperately. His gaze became  even colder.  “Also… anyone who works with the Collins Group won’t be able to get a partnership with SY  Group!”  After saying this, Kirk kicked Howard aside and strode toward the front door. 

Chapter 551  +15 BONUS  The man was so scared that he started shaking. He stumbled away, looking like he was running  for his life  Seeing this, Howard’s eyebrow twitched. A bad feeling grew in his gut.  A wicked look flashed in Kirk’s eyes as he sat in the middle of the couch.  Howard braced himself and laughed as he faced the crowd. “Let me go up for a look. You can all  chat. Don’t mind us…”  As he spoke, he stumbled upstairs, nearly tripping a few times.  When he got to the second floor, he looked around at the empty master bedroom and strode over to the butler. Lowering his voice, he questioned, “Where’s the madam?”  The butler instantly went down on his knees. “Sir, the madam… She hasn’t been back since she went out yesterday. I’ve been trying to contact her all this time, but I didn’t manage to get through  to her.”  Howard kicked the butler in the chest. “You useless fool. Why are you telling me such an important piece of news now?”  The butler clutched his chest. “Sir, I sent people out to search for her yesterday, but no one’s found her, even now. We should make a police report immediately.”  Howard gritted his teeth and said, “Let me ask you something. Why did she go out yesterday?”  “S–she… she…” The butler lowered his head, not daring to tell Howard.  Howard was so angry that he felt like he was about to have a heart attack. “Are you still not going to tell me at this point?”  With no other choice, the butler could only answer tremblingly, “To capture … Caroline.”  Howard’s voice was high as he shouted, “What did you say?”  “She went to capture Caroline,” the butler repeated.  Howard was so infuriated that he kicked the butler several more times. “Why did she want to  capture Caroline? Don’t you know I signed a contract with Mr. Kirk?”  +15 BONUS  Although Howard despised Caroline a lot, the Collins family had been earning so much after  signing the contract with Kirk. Thereafter, he couldn’t be bothered with Caroline anymore.  If Jane had gone to make trouble for Caroline, wasn’t she just transgressing against the person  who was letting them make money?  “I don’t care how you do it, but find Jane now! Right this instant! And Caroline. Don’t let Mr. Kirk  find out about what happened. Go now!”  “Yes, sir!” The butler scrambled to get up from the ground. Without caring for his pride, he raced  down the stairs.  Downstairs, the guests couldn’t help but look up at the butler as he left the house. Right then,  Howard’s voice drifted down from the second floor.  “I’m so sorry, everyone. We forgot to buy some drinks. I’ve sent someone to get to it now. Let’s-”  Before he could finish, the butler retreated from the front entrance. He was trembling even harder  now than he had been before.  “You piece of shit! I asked you to do something. How can you be so-”  Howard’s voice suddenly came to a stop. He watched as the police came in and hurried  downstairs. “Officers, what brings you here?”
