Chapter 555  +15 BONUS  After a moment, Kirk suddenly let out a soft noise. He seemed afraid of angering Jude.  “Caroline is only in her 20s now. She has a long road in front of her. Eddy only took up about 20  years of her life. However, I can take up the next 30, 40, 50 or more years of her life…”  As expected, Jude was incandescent when he heard these words. His eyes were burning with fury  as he asked, “So you’re determined to be with Carrie no matter what?”  “That’s right.” Kirk gave an affirmative answer.  Angry, Jude pushed the door open in a huff and got out of the car.  Simon was already waiting by the car. Seeing Jude getting out, he went up to help his employer. However, Jude shoved Simon aside in annoyance.  Eddy could tell that Jude was angry and quickly rushed up. “Grandpa, what’s-”  Kirk eyed the closed door and said to the driver, “Take me home.”  Getting his orders, the driver departed Morrison Manor.  Inside Morrison Manor, Jude walked into the study, with Eddy following closely behind.  “Grandpa, what’s going on with you?” Eddy asked.  He knew that Jude had been talking about something with Kirk, and that was why he was in such  a rage now.  Jude glared at Eddy, making the latter even more confused.  “Grandpa, why are you looking at me like that? I didn’t do anything to make you angry.”  “I want to ask you something.”  Without waiting for a response, Jude barreled on, “Do you like Caroline or not? Do you want to be  with her?  “I’m telling you now–you have a very powerful competitor. If you don’t work fast, ah… I think you  won’t ever get to see Caroline again!”  Eddy didn’t believe it. “Who? Grandpa, let me tell you something. I’ve finally understood the  1/3  +15 BONUS  “Don’t mention Caroline’s husband to me again! If it hadn’t been for him, Caroline and your-”  “My what?”  Jude raised a trembling hand at Eddy, unable to say more.  How could he have a grandson who was so slow when it came to matters of the heart?  “Forget it!”  Jude slammed a hand on the table and said, “You and Caroline can do whatever you want!”  Eddy helped Jude to sit down “Grandpa, wouldn’t it have been better if things had been like this  earlier? I told you long ago not to butt into our matters.  “Alright, don’t be mad anymore. I’ll go see Caroline in your stead later, alright?”  “No need.”  Jude was so angry that his head hurt. He intentionally went against Eddy. “You don’t need to go  and see her, either. Besides, there’s no way you’re getting together.”  Eddy got anxious when he heard this. “Grandpa, what do you mean by that? Don’t you like  Caroline?”  “What’s the use of me liking her if you don’t?”  Jude looked Eddy up and down. “I’m telling you not to go. If you go, I’ll break both your legs.” 

Chapter 554  +15 BONUS  Jude’s expression changed as he sat up straight. “Oh? Are these two incidents related?”  “After Brie lost her mind, the Collins family has been wanting to make a move against Caroline to avenge her. I also only found out about this inadvertently.  “Back then, she was on the outs with her family. I was worried that she wouldn’t be able to handle it since she was a woman all on her own.  “That’s why I partnered with Collins Group. It was with the condition to let Caroline off.”  Jude kept staring into Kirk’s eyes as he said, “Can I ask why you did that?”  Kirk was also looking at Jude, no longer avoiding him. He admitted it straightforwardly, saying, Of course. I did that because I like Caroline.”  At these words, Jude’s expression shifted drastically. He inhaled deeply and said, “You’re finally admitting it.”  Kirk replied, “I have nothing to admit to.”  “But she’s…”  ”  In the front passenger seat, Eddy didn’t notice that there was a disagreement going on in the back.  He turned his head to look at the older men and said with a smile, “Didn’t I say it before? Caroline is great with the older generation.”  Η  Jude looked at his thoughtless grandson and suddenly felt like he couldn’t keep going. He lowered his voice and asked, “Then what’s the situation with Ms. Dawson?”  “Uncle Jude, I’ve already said that all she needs to do is what she’s supposed to do as my wife.”  Jude whipped his head up to look at Kirk. “So you mean that, to you, Ms. Dawson only helps to deal with your marriage problem?”  Kirk didn’t keep looking at Jude. He answered, “Yes.”  “But you’re married!”  Though Jude’s words were simple, they carried a deeper meaning.  +15 BONUS  But Kirk didn’t fall for the trap. He said blandly, “We are married. But we can always get divorced.”  “You want to marry.  someone else?” Jude was holding back his anger as he looked at Eddy up  front.  “Yes.”  “Even if she’s already married?”  “Yes.”  Jude gripped his walking stick tightly. “When did you start getting that desire?”  Kirk didn’t answer immediately. After a moment of silence, he said, “I don’t remember anymore.”  Eddy was totally confused as he listened to this conversation. He turned to look at the two curiously.  “Uncle Kirk, Grandpa, what are you talking about? Why don’t I understand any of it?”  Jude glanced at him for a second before turning to look out the window in a huff.  Kirk only gave Eddy a slight smile, not explaining anything at all.  The atmosphere in the car slowly became quite strange. The three of them remained this way until they arrived at Morrison Manor.  Kirk said, “Uncle Jude, we’ve arrived.”  Jude gripped his walking stick and remained silent for a moment. Then, he said to Eddy, “Eddy, you get off first.”  Not understanding what Jude wanted to do, Eddy nodded. “Alright.”  After Eddy got out of the car, Jude angled himself toward Kirk and said, “Kirk, you cannot be with  Caroline!”  “Uncle Jude, no one can interfere in my life.” Kirk leaned into the back of his seat, looking lazy.  Jude lifted his walking stick and tapped it lightly several times before he managed to control his  churning rage.  “Kirk, Caroline is speciál to me. Besides, she grew up with Eddy. Although she went overseas for a  long time, she had always been with Eddy besides that.”  2/3  +15 BONUS
