Chapter 65  The meeting went on for a full four hours, with a break for lunchtime.  Nydia was still in a bit of a trance until she sat down in the restaurant.  It was her first time to attend this kind of high–level global economic summit with Cade, and it was also her first time to see Cade switching between seven languages with case on the stage, talking and discussing with the top big names from various industries present.  Not only did he not lose the battle, but he overpowered them. He amazed everyone in the audience with his calm and composed demeanor, his insight into the future of business, and his clear vision of the future.  Once again, Cade, this 27–year–old man was a global sensation.  From the end of the meeting to now, the words praising him had never stopped.  “I used to hear people say that the CEO of Jackson Group in Creekheim is so awesome and amazing, but today I’ve seen him with my own eyes.”  “His Samonlish was so authentic that I wondered if he grew up in Samonland.”  “And he’s so handsome and has such a good figure. He’s simply too perfect.”  “Yeah, Mr. Miles from Mewarting City is already the best, but Mr. Jackson actually surpassed him.”  “Hey, having such a man as her husband, I wonder how Mrs. Jackson feels. I’m going to be so jealous of her.”  Several women who were captivated by Cade sat together, passionately expressing their feelings. They were completely oblivious to the fact that Cade’s wife, Nydia, was sitting right behind them.  Alison covered her mouth and snickered. “Ms. Sharp, how do you feel?”  Nydia took a hard bite of shrimp and sneered helplessly, “How do I feel? I feel I’m being verbally abused.”  She’d been verbally abused for five whole years. Every time Cade showed his face in front of everyone, she was verbally abused behind her back.  The two were talking when they saw Josephine come in. Josephine didn’t show up for  Chapter 65  this morning’s meeting and they didn’t know where she went.  Josephine didn’t have to attend the meeting. She only came there to travel with Cade, not for work.  In her eyes, work was not as important as Cade, and as long as she got Cade, she could enjoy a lifetime of glory and wealth without working.  The other members of the Jackson Group knew about Josephine and Cade’s relationship, so they took the initiative to say hello to her.  Josephine enjoyed the flattery brought by her relationship with Cade. She responded with a sweet smile. She stood up and took a few steps over. She pushed aside the crowd of onlookers and took Josephine’s hand. “Come with me for a moment.”  As soon as Josephine saw it was Nydia, she became angry and pushed her hard. “Get off me, you bitch.”  Nydia lost her balance and took several steps backward. She leaned against the table behind her so she didn’t fall.  She didn’t get angry. She once again stepped forward to pull Josephine, whispering. “Stop being crazy here. Just go with me.”  “I’m not going with you, bitch. Let go of me.” Josephine struggled for a while and found it useless, so she lowered her head and bit hard on Nydia’s hand. Nydia’s hand bled on  the spot.  […]

Chapter 64  Nydia thought he looked like a hooligan with this look and felt the set she chose for him didn’t match him at all. She suddenly wanted to throw away the set in her hands.  “Shame on you!” She glared at him in shame.  Cade’s eyes narrowed at her words. He stubbed out the cigarette and stood up, approaching Nydia.  The tobacco flavor mixed with a faint aroma rushed toward her.  “Mr. Jackson.” She panicked and stepped back. “Stop it. Get changed and go downstairs. They’re waiting for us.”  Cade ignored her forcing her to the side of the locker, leaving her with no way to retreat and no way to escape.  “I’m not in a hurry,” he lowered his gaze at her and said indifferently.  Nydia’s checks blushed and her legs went weak at the breath he exhaled. She hated. herself for being so easily influenced by him, and even more so for Cade, who always teased her.  “There’s no one filming us right now and no outsiders in the room, why doesn’t he go make out with Josephine next door?‘ she wondered in her mind.  Josephine had been so pissed off earlier when Nydia and Cade were pretending to be a loving couple downstairs that she had run upstairs.  Realizing that Nydia had lost her mind, Cade frowned in displeasure. He moved his hand down and exerted a slight force to tear off her short shirt directly.  Feeling the coolness on her chest, Nydia jerked back to her senses and exclaimed, “What are you doing?”  This shirt is ugly. You’re not allowed to wear it from now on.” Cade’s tone was domineering and sounded irrefutable.  Nydia was so angry that her breathing became heavy. She put her hands on her chest to cover her breasts.  The short shirt was the one she bought on purpose. It was a slim fit with a collarbone exposed design that could show her figure perfectly.  1/3  12:05 PM,  Chapter 64  “I just wore it when I went downstairs for breakfast, and I could tell that quite a few people passing by thought this shirt looked good. I can’t believe he thinks it’s undy He has such a bad taste, Nydia thought to herself inwardly.  “You can avoid looking at it if you don’t like it. Why did you ruin it? It cost me 600 dollars.” Nydia frowned in distress. She had only worn the short shirt once.  Hearing her emphasize the words “600 dollars“, Cade snorted in disdain. “So what? It looks ugly.”  “Cade!” Nydia finally couldn’t bear it anymore and shouted at him. It was the second time she yelled at him.  The result was the same as the first time she yelled at him. He got angry and his eyes grew cold, pushing even closer to her.  The two of them were so close together that Nydia could feel his tense muscles and powerful heartbeat. Her breathing became uncontrollably chaotic, but she still pretended to be calm.  Cade looked down at her. A glint of playfulness crossed the bottom of his eyes as he watched her smooth face gradually blush and looked at her fluttering eyelashes.  He bent down and said with his lips deliberately close to her earlobe, “Yes?”  Nydia’s eyelashes fluttered even more violently, and even her neck turned red. Her appearance further aroused Cade.  His eyes darkened and he swallowed saliva. His lips traced from her earlobe toward her  cheeks.  Nydia didn’t dare breathe as if she was expecting Cade’s next move.  Unexpectedly, Cade chuckled lightly. He lifted his lips off her cheek and calmly reached out to grab the dress from the wardrobe behind her and threw it onto her head. “Wear this one.”  With that, he grabbed his own clothes and headed for the checkroom. Nydia froze in place for a long moment before reacting.  Realizing that she had been played by him again, Nydia cursed angrily in her mind, “Bastard!‘  She looked angrily at the dress he chose for her. It was a high–necked, non–waisted, and ordinary dress. It completely covered her perfect figure.  2/5  Chapter 64  It was originally brought by her to wear when she was on leisure occasions, but she didn’t realize that it had now become a tool for Cade to tease her.  Nydia had the desire to look attractive and there was no way she was going to give in on- this. She raised her voice and said to Cade who was in the checkroom, “This dress  doesn’t match the one you’re wearing now. Let’s forget about it.”  With that, the door to the checkroom was pulled open.  Looking at his reserved and demonic appearance and then the dress, the anger in Nydia’s heart became even fiercer.  “Mr. Jackson.” She looked at Cade pitifully, hoping that he would change that stupid decision he had made just now. However, how could Cade do as she wished?  “How come black and white don’t match?” Cade glanced down at his watch and urged disgruntledly, “Don’t be pretentious. Hurry up, get changed, and get downstairs. The organizer is losing their patience.”  Nydia glared at him in anger, but there was nothing she could do. In the end, she put on the dress, but she wore a thin burgundy coat, making her overall look less. 

Chapter 63 Nydia admired her acting skills. She could change her expressions so quickly that she felt she was fully capable of being an actress.  She had blown hot and cold on Cade, which made him want to punish her: He felt like he should have strangled her sooner rather than letting her play tricks with him over and over again.  Cade cursed Nydia in his mind angrily.  Stuart pulled out the chair next to Nydia and Cade sat down.  Nydia immediately smiled and served him oatmeal with yogurt and took a couple of other dishes.  “I don’t eat sweet food,” Cade said with a cold face.  “Ohhh, I see.” Nydia hurriedly served him the other dishes. If she weren’t worried that Cade would not cooperate with her, she wanted to feed him to make the others think they were a loving couple.  She looked as well–behaved and obedient as she could at the moment. Everyone around her thought she was being really nice to Cade.  Alison didn’t have time to go upstairs to get a camera to record, so she stood up and took out her phone to record them.  “Feed me.” Cade frowned.  “Okay.” Nydia immediately brought the food to his mouth.  She knew that Cade was deliberately asking her to do so. He wanted to see how long she could act.  When the oatmeal was brought to his mouth, he didn’t open his mouth. “I don’t like oatmeal.”  Nydia was speechless but had to hold back her anger.  She gritted her teeth and forced a smile. “What would you like to eat, then?”  Cade looked upward lazily and leaned back in the chair. “Not sure yet.”  Nydia thought angrily to herself, ‘What does he mean by that? He wants me to serve all  12-05  Chapter 63  the food one by one and let him try until he gets his favorite food?”  She bent over slightly and whispered close to his ear, “Don’t be so hard on me.”  They were so close. To outsiders, they seemed like a loving couple, but only the two of them knew that they both wanted to strangle each other now.  “Hard?” Cade tapped the table with his fingers, his black eyes glaring at her with a cold smile. “I’m cooperating with you.”  “Same here.” Nydia was also cooperating with him to make a show for Orson.  Unexpectedly, Cade’s posture became more languid. He wasn’t threatened in the least. “You think you can really threaten me with my grandpa? Silly woman!”  Nydia gritted her teeth again. She knew he wasn’t someone to be trifled with at will.  She wondered how he suddenly changed his nature to obey his grandpa just now. So, it turned out that he was acting.  What a devil!  Seeing that he had no intention of stopping this acting game, Nydia could only resign herself to doing as she was told.  Stuart stood aside. Secing Cade even needing Nydia to feed him when he had orange, he couldn’t help but sigh in his heart, ‘Mr Jackson is truly our boss. He really has his strategy. I need to learn from him when I have a relationship in the future.  Josephine was jealous. She took several pills but it didn’t work. She grabbed her bag and ran upstairs crying.  Alison was recording the scene on her phone while holding back a laugh, causing her hands to shake the whole time.  She checked the time and realized she’d been recording for about half an hour. She thought it should be enough.  Nydia was so tired that she couldn’t straighten her back. She cursed in her mind, ‘Damn it. I’ve served all the dishes to him to try and surprisingly, none of them is his favorite. Who does he think he is? Some famous foodie?”  “Are you full?” Nydia asked through clenched teeth.  Cade frowned in disgust. You have really bad taste. None of them is my favorite food.”  Chapter 03  Nydia was so angry she wanted to overturn the table. She forced herself to hold back the anger in her heart as she continued to curse in her mind, ‘Damn. Is he crazy? What’s it to me? It was the chef of the hotel who made all these dishes.  “Hurry up and go upstairs to change and get ready. There’s only half an hour before the summit starts.” She could only use work to make him stop this childish game.  Cade finally started wiping his mouth slowly and methodically when he heard this. After that, he dropped the wipes on the table in front of him and stood up, asking casually, “Did you prepare it?”  Nydia froze before realizing he was talking about preparing the clothes for his attendance.  She clenched her fists slightly and smiled. “I put them in the closet. Just pick any set you like.  Cade gave her a displeased glance. “Any set?”  People passing by were looking at them, and envious words came over from time to time.  Nydia unclenched her fists and held his arm, forcing a bright smile. “Come on. I’ll dress  you.  A smug sneer flashed under Cade’s eyes and he let her pull himself quickly up the stairs.  Alison put away her cell phone happily. Seeing Nydia

Chapter 62  The person in charge was shocked, his face blushed and pale, but in the end, he didn’t dare to say anything and left in low spirits.  The rest of the people were each on their toes and didn’t make another mistake again.  Josephine was mesmerized by Cade. Since there were no outsiders present, she leaned over and kept serving Cade food.  “Cade, try this. I hear it’s a specialty of Mewarting City,” she said pretending to be cute.  Nydia was full. She didn’t want to keep watching Josephine’s deep affection for Cade, so she asked Alison to go for a walk by the seaside with her.  The breeze at night wasn’t as dry as during the day.  The tide went out, and many people were on the beach gathering seafood. Alison went over and borrowed someone’s shovel, squatting on the ground to dig.  Nydia found a piece of dry wood and sat down to watch Alison digging.  Her cell phone rang. It was a call from an unfamiliar phone number.  Nydia answered it, “Hello, who is it?”  A soft laugh came from the other end of the line. “It’s me, Bentley.”  Nydia froze. She seemed to have just saved Bentley’s cell phone number last time but she didn’t give him hers. The only contact they had was WhatsApp. Her phone was thrown away by Cade and after she got back her WhatsApp, she didn’t contact him.  But she quickly realized that it should be Troy who had given him her phone number.  “What’s the matter?” Nydia asked.  Alison seemed to have dug something up. She jumped and waved at Nydia. Nydia walked over and saw a little crab.  “I just called to thank you.” Bentley smiled and listened to the sound coming from the other end through the receiver.  The little crab had a hard time getting inside the sand. After being scooped out, it flashed its not–yet–hard pincers angrily and glared at Alison in front of it. It looked like it couldn’t wait to attack Alison with its pincers.  12004  Chapter 09  Nydia laughed out loud at the sight. It was the kind of heartfelt laughter, joyful and pleasant.  Upon hearing her laughter, Bentley curled the corners of his mouth unconsciously and his eyes were filled with tenderness.  Nydia was too engrossed in watching the crab to hear what he was saying. She just replied perfunctorily and casually.  “When are you coming back?” he asked.  Nydia answered him without thinking, “In three days.”  Bentley glanced at the calendar. He was supposed to be out of the country again in three days. He wouldn’t be able to meet her this time again.  His expression became annoyed, though his voice was still gentle. “Okay, take care of yourself then. See you next time.”  “Okay, you too,” Nydia said politely.  The phone had just hung up when Tanya’s message came. It read, [send me the material.]  The simple words made Nydia’s smile disappear. No matter which material it was, it made her head spin.  She replied to Tanya, [Got it.]  sway,  When she caught a glimpse of Cade coming this way, she subconsciously wanted to ask Alison to go back and get the camera, but on second thought, she thought she couldn’t shoot anything with it being so dark outside. Furthermore, he had just had such a fit of rage, so he probably wouldn’t have a good attitude toward her. So, she gave up the idea.  “Hey, Mr. Jackson.” Nydia took the initiative to greet Cade. She hoped he wouldn’t vent his anger on her.  Cade stood still not far from her, staring at her with deep eyes..  The wind by the seaside was slightly cool, and the night was deep.  Standing in the darkness, he looked cold and indifferent..  Nydia felt uneasy when he looked at her, but she had a smile on her face. “Why are you looking at me so mesmerized?”  Chapter 02  She then heard Cade sneer coldly and saw him turn his gaze toward the sea with indifference.  Nydia had never intended to win his good attitude, so she turned around casually, She propped her chin with her hands and enjoyed the wind. Her long hair swayed and danced in the wind.  “Nydia,” Cade suddenly called out to her..  Nydia didn’t turn around. “Yes?”  “Why do you want a divorce?” he asked.  Nydia was stunned and turned back to him, but he was a bit far away. She couldn’t guess anything from the look in his eyes and the reason why he suddenly asked the question.  She didn’t try to put him off with just any reason, though. It was probably the rare serenity that gave her the courage to speak to himi calmly. She answered truthfully, “Probably because there is no love between us now.”  Cade’s eyes flashed. “You don’t love me anymore?”  The question caused Nydia to sneer. She asked back, “Do you love me?”  Cade seemed to have seriously considered the question she asked. The question did not satisfy him very much and made him irritable.  He found Nydia’s reaction too sarcastic and felt that she just didn’t love him, and not only that but she also provoked him.  ‘You sly ungrateful woman! You were in bed talking about recording our time together this afternoon, but in a few hours, you showed your true colors, Cade cursed in his mind. 

Chapter 61  There was nothing wrong with that explanation, but Cade just didn’t like it. Although his face was expressionless, there was a hint of coldness in his eyes.  Nydia sarcastically curled her lips and asked in her heart, ‘You can’t stand being separated from Josephine for just a little while? Don’t worry. As long as you and I are divorced, you guys can be together as much as you want. different worlds, but fate brought them together. The scene of them together was like a stunning picture.  Nydia’s hair fell around Cade’s shoulders, and his handsome appearance fell into her  eyes. Alison sighed inwardly as she rotated the camera.  When Josephine appeared on camera, Alison’s envy on her face turned into disgust. Josephine is such a buzzkill. Damn! If it weren’t for her meddling and sabotaging, Mr. Jackson and Ms. Sharp’s relationship wouldn’t be this bad. They must have had their children a long time ago, thought Alisón inwardly.  Alison subconsciously wanted to turn the camera to Nydia and Cade, but Nydia asked her to film all three of them.  She had no choice but to hold back the nausea in her heart as she filmed Josephine.  Josephine was so angry that she was about to explode, but she still had to put on a smiling face and exchange pleasantries with those people from the organizer.  The group arrived at the hotel. Unsurprisingly, Nydia and Cade were put in the same  room. Nydia walked over to look down after hanging her clothes and bag on a hanger.  Cade was talking about something with the people sent by the organizer, and Stuart stood respectfully by.  “Alison, let me see what you shot,” Nydia turned her head and said.  Alison showed a smile immediately and took the camera out. “Ms. Sharp, you don’t even know how well you match Mr. Jackson in the camera.”  Nydia smiled without saying anything. After turning on the camera and taking a few glances, she felt that Alison was talking nonsense.  They didn’t look well–matched on camera at all. Cade had a dark face throughout and Nydia was the only one who was smiling like a fool, giving the impression that she was trying to impress Cade.  Nydia continued to check the camera and saw the way Josephine looked at Cade. There was a deep and affectionate look in her eyes.  In the video, Cade was standing across from Josephine, and when he raised his eyes, his gaze fell on Josephine. They looked like a perfect match..  Nydia suddenly lost interest in continuing to watch and snapped off the camera.  Alison sensed that Nydia’s spirit drooped and couldn’t help but feel a little worried. “Ms. Sharp, should I keep recording?”  “Why not?” Nydia walked over to the bed and sat down. “It’s such a wonderful trip. I want to keep it as a souvenir.”  At that moment, the door was opened. Cade came in.  Alison gathered her things quickly. After bowing, she immediately took her things and left the room.  275  Chapter 81  Without Alison continuing to shoot there, Nydia didn’t bother to pretend to be warm to him. She yawned lazily. “Hello, Mr. Jackson.”  Cade asked casually, “What did you shoot?” “You actually saved it?” Nydia asked in surprise.  Cade locked the screen and said lightly. “The organizer asked me for a group photo of us for promotion, so I just downloaded it and sent it to them.”  “Ohh.” Nydia was a little disappointed. She smiled indifferently. “I was just wondering how you could possibly have a photo of me on your phone.”  “It’s not a photo of you, but us.” Cade corrected her. “But you’re pretty self–aware.”  With little patience to listen to him any longer, Nydia yawned again and said, “I’m going to take a shower and get some sleep. I’ll let you go.” 

Chapter 60  As if she had seen something horrible, Josephine looked at Nydia with an incredulous look on her face. She thought to herself, ‘Nydia never used to say that I was a perfect match for Cade. She has always held her head high with pride, either walking awayj disdainfully or mocking me. What’s wrong with her today? Could it be that she finally gets the right idea and is willing to relinquish her position as Cade’s wife to me?  She had guessed right this time.  Nydia did want to give up the position of Cade’s wife to Josephine, and that was why she said such words to give Josephine hope. Nydia hoped that Josephine would live up to her expectations and do a few more unexpected things during this trip to make her have materials.  Alison carried a camera out.  Nydia took it to check it out and asked, “Did you bring enough batteries?”  “Yes, don’t worry,” Alison answered before greeting Cade respectfully.  Seeing Nydia couldn’t even find the on button after she checked the camera again and again, Cade snorted coldly. “We’re going to a meeting, not making a movie. Why are you bringing it?”  Nydia raised her eyes to meet his mockery and smiled cunningly. “We’ll definitely go out and have fun after the meeting. I’m sure we’ll need to take photos to record. I’ll make videos and post them online. With your influence, they are sure to be a hit. Maybe we can still earn back the airfare money.” Alison asked in confusion, “Why don’t I only shoot you and Mr. Jackson? Why do you want me to shoot Josephine?”  Nydia was about to reply to her when Cade sat in. Alison turned her head immediately. and pretended to check the camera.  Nydia looked at Cade in surprise. “Why did you get in my car?”  “They’re all cars owned by my Jackson Group. I can get into whichever one I want,” Cade retorted to her angrily.  Nydia secretly rolled her eyes but put a smile on her face. “That’s not what I meant. I just don’t think it’s good for you to leave Josephine alone in that car. She hasn’t been, recovering for long.”  Cade looked at her in disbelief and asked mentally, ‘Is that something a wife should say? What kind of wife will push her husband to a mistress? She used to throw tantrums and say some unpleasant jealous words when Josephine and I were together. Doesn’t she care about it now?”  Cade’s face was getting darker and darker, anger brewing in his eyes. Nydia could see  Chapter 60  his expression change clearly, and she couldn’t help but feel a little bit scared. She lowered her head and dared not to look into his eyes anymore.  “It’s so strange. Shouldn’t he be happy that I’m doing this? Isn’t sharing a car with the woman one loves something all men dream of? Could it be that he’s angry because he wanted to share a car with me and I pushed him out of the way?‘ thought Nydia.  She was a little conflicted in her mind. When she went to look at Cade again, she only saw him looking indifferently ahead. His voice was cold. “If it weren’t for your trickery to get Grandpa to pressure me into having to take care of family matters, I wouldn’t bother getting in the same car as you.”  Nydia was shocked and her fingers clenched tightly. After a few seconds, she loosened them and smiled indifferently. “Well, it looks like I made the most brilliant move in tricking your grandpa.”  “You can’t be this smug forever,” Cade sneered.  “Fair enough.” Nydia sighed softly. When Orson passed away one day, there wouldn’t be anyone left to defend her.  She wouldn’t wait until that day, though.  She didn’t want to spend one more day in the Jackson family, the shithole.  Cade thought she was feeling sad for the day when she couldn’t enjoy his wealth, so he sneered, “So you better pray for my grandpa to have a long life.”  “Of course: I definitely hope he lives long.” Nydia didn’t hope like this for the sake of coveting the Jackson family’s riches. She genuinely wished Orson well because he had always been good to her.  She wondered how Orson would react when it came time for her to file for divorce. He would probably feel betrayed, perhaps more

Chapter 59  After speaking, Cade lay down again and closed his eyes in weariness.  Nydia felt a surge of frustration. After standing still for a few seconds, she walked to the other side, lifted the covers, and lay down.  Cade, noticing her distant demeanor, asked, “Am I a monster or something?”  Nydia, pretending to be confused, replied, “What’s wrong?”  Seeing through her facade, Cade pulled her into his embrace without further ado. His scent enveloped her, causing her to blush instantly. She instinctively resisted, saying, “Mr. Jackson, you must be tired, right? Go to sleep.”  Cade, pulling her closer, teased, “I may be tired, but I’m fit enough to make you scream all night. If you keep moving, I don’t mind proving it to you.”  Nydia fell silent.  Cade smirked and hugged her until he fell asleep. Initially stiff and resistant, Nydia gradually relaxed and snuggled closer to him, who held her tighter.  Cade was gone when Nydia woke up the next morning. After breakfast, she quickly tidied up and drove to the largest luxury mall in Creekheim.  Finding the brands Cade usually wore was easy for Nydia. As she browsed, Edda. entered the store. When she saw Nydia, her face lit up with surprise. “Nydia, what a coincidence!”  Ever since Edda helped Lance with the ward, Nydia couldn’t treat her indifferently  anymore.  “Yeah.” Nydia nodded, wondering how to repay this favor.  Edda, as enthusiastic as ever, asked, “Buying clothes for Mr. Jackson, huh?”  Nydia, still unaccustomed to Edda’s enthusiasm, turned to pick clothes to avoid awkwardness, saying, “Yeah.”  Edda, looking envious, remarked, “You two really love each other.”  Thinking back to the Wiley family dinner where Josephine was close to Edda, Nydia wondered why Edda managed to befriend her friend’s “rival.” “Is there an ulterior motive?‘ she wondered.  1/4 Before Nydia could dwell on it, Edda, seemingly reading her mind, casually expl “Josephine was my client initially. She had some psychological issues and often sought my help. Over time, we became friends.”  Edda’s response seemed sincere. Josephine’s psychological Issues were evident from her  affair and self–harm.  Nydia stayed silent as Edda continued, “By the way, Nydia, are you heading to Mewarting City for the summit?”  Nydia, feeling a bit annoyed by the chatter, simply nodded. Edda praised, “the sea in Mewarting City is so beautiful. I think you’d look stunning in a swimsuita  “I can’t swim,” Nydia admitted. She had tried but lacked the talent, eventually giving up.  Edda smiled. “No worries, admiring the sea is just as nice”  Checking the time, Nydia knew she had to hurry, so she excused herself. “Sorry, but I gotta go now. See you next time.” She picked up two suits, ready to leave  Edda held up a shirt to Nydia. asking. “Nydia, what do you think of this shirt”  Nydia, maintaining politeness on her face but in a distant tone replied, “I can’t give an opinion without knowing who it’s for  “It’s for my brother. It’s his birthday next week, and I want to buy it as a gift,” Edda explained. “I haven’t bought clothes for men before.”  The store’s staff and customers glanced over, recognizing Nydia as the wife of the CEO of the Jackson Group.  Nydia saw this as an opportunity to improve her public image. She agreed to help Edda, wanting to repay a previous favor and also taking it seriously since it was for Bentley. In her eyes, he was a good man.  Based on Bentley’s gentle demeanor, Nydia chose a few light–colored suits and asked Edda, “How about these?”  Edda’s eyes lit up in delight. She exclaimed, “I think Bentley will like them. They are his style.”  Nydia managed a smile and said, “Pick one.”  Edda hesitated. “They all look great. I’ll take photos and decide later.”  Chapter 59  After Edda took the pictures, Nydia quickly returned the clothes to their places, feeling tired from the act. She settled her own purchases at the counter, bidding Edda goodbye without looking back.  Edda glanced at her departing figure and then sent the photo to Bentley, followed by a message reading, [Bentley, Nydia picked this birthday gift for you. Do you like it?]  She put away her phone after sending the message and then turned to the salesgirl, saying, “Could you please wrap up the brown one?”  Once the clothes were packaged, Edda called Josephine. “Hey, Josephine, you’re heading out soon, and you might need more medication. Swing by my place to pick. some up; I have it ready.”  Before departing for the summit, a brief meeting was held, with Cade absent.  Josephine, dressed to the nines, eyed Nydia provocatively, seemingly wanting to outshine her.  Nydia focused on the summit agenda and the materials the Jackson Group would  present.  As they were about to leave, Cade returned. Josephine tried to hold his arm, but he coldly pulled away, reminding her, “Don’t forget what I said.”  Josephine looked on the verge of tears. However, as Nydia stood nearby, she forced a smile, saying, “Of course. I was just so happy to see you.”  Nydia, witnessing their interaction, found it puzzling why Cade suddenly turned cold toward Josephine, especially after their intense display of affection that night. She wondered what he had said to Josephine. 

Chapter 58  Nydia replied, [Just showered. Sorry for the delay. I’ll attend it.] Those few words answered all of Troy’s questions.  Troy chuckled and quickly typed, [How did the conversation with Tanya go?]  Nydia wrapped her damp hair with a towel, grabbed a tissue from the table, wiped the water droplets off her phone screen, and replied, [It’s in progress.]  Troy followed up, [Are you confident?]  Nydia pondered and replied, [Hard to say.]  Troy paused, recalling Cade’s last visit to Nydia and absentmindedly brushed his eyebrow. If Cade discovered he advised Nydia on her divorce, Cade wouldn’t let him get away with it.  Troy took a puff of his cigar, his eyes darkened as he messaged Nydia, [Contact me if needed.]  Nydia responded, [Thank you. I will.]  After the chat, Nydia started packing for the three–day travel, carefully selecting outfits to leave a perfect impression as a devoted wife. The thought of Cade being criticized for being a jerk made her satisfied.  Suddenly, Cade’s teasing voice sounded. “Are you that happy to travel with me?”  Nydia was startled. Cade seemed to have a knack for appearing out of nowhere. Though cursing him internally, she maintained a bright smile. “Oh, Mr. Jackson.”  Cade, leaning lazily against the wardrobe, arms crossed, gazed down at her, “It’s just a business trip, not a fashion show. Why bring so many clothes?”  Nydia retorted playfully, “So many clothes? I thought they were not enough.”  Cade, seemingly in a good mood, disregarded her disdain and asked casually, “What about mine?“–  Nydia, slightly puzzled, inquired, “What do you mean?”  “Clothes,” Cade reminded her irritably.  “Your clothes are in your wardrobe.” Nydia deliberately ignored his scowl and  1/4  Chapter 38  innocently replied.  Cade frowned, pointing at her suitcase. “Pack mine for me. They need to match yours  Nydia gritted her teeth with frustration, but she maintained a gentle smile. “We usually buy our own clothes, so they probably won’t match, right?”  “From now on, you’ll buy mine, Cade asserted. “If they don’t match, buy new ones tomorrow morning, and we’ll leave in the afternoon.”  Before she could respond, Cade added, “Be more careful. Don’t embarrass Jackson Group.”  As he turned to leave, Nydia called out, “Wait.”  Cade turned back, and Nydia promptly held out her hand. “Money”  “What money?” Cade frowned in displeasure.  “Money for clothes!” She wasn’t going to let him freeload off her.  “Nydia, I pay you a monthly salary, and you don’t even have money to buy me a few clothes?” Cade looked surprised.  “You’ve got some nerve to bring up my salary, huh?” She sneered inwardly. “I secured so many projects for Jackson Group. Did you ever give me any bonus for it?  Nydia grew angrier as she thought about it. She retorted. “My salary is my due, and how I use it is my right. Your expenses are not my concern.”  Cade’s gaze darkened, and after a while of silence, he threw a black card to the and walked away.  ground  Nydia stared at his retreating figure and picked up the card. It would be foolish not to take the money. Holding the black card, she felt excited.  Ever since Dara arrived, Nydia had been having late–night snacks. She noticed she had gained weight recently.  Tonight, Dara had prepared a large bowl of fish soup, which almost made Nydia burst into tears when she saw Cade’s dark face.  Dara struggled to contain her amusement as she explained, “Mr. Cade, Mr. Orson told me to cook this for you.” Then, she served Nydia a bowl of chicken soup, saying, “Mrs. Jackson, this is for you.”  Chapter 18  Nydia was speechless, realizing that she shouldn’t have gloated. She glanced at Cade’s slightly arnused expression and retorted, “Mr. Jackson, if you want to laugh, go ahead. It’s bad for your health.”  Cade, calmly eating his soup, replied, “As long as it’s not bad for my kidneys.”  Nydia stopped engaging in banter with him and started eating.  Dara couldn’t help but smile; she sneakily took a photo and sent it to Orson. She believed that soon, the Jackson family would welcome a new heir.  After finishing the meal, Cade went to the study, while Nydia returned to the bedroom. Having broken a light sweat, she took a shower. Upon coming out of the bathroom, she saw Cade lying on the bed with his eyes closed. He seemed to have showered, wearing loose black pajamas that accentuated his muscular physique, exposing his strong chest and narrow waist. She couldn’t resist his body’s allure.  Feeling her intense gaze, Cade glanced at her, causing her to lose control for a moment. His face exuded a captivating sensuality.  Nydia, trying to hide her feelings, coughed lightly. “Why do you sleep without blow- drying your hair?” 

Chapter 57  After the sex, Nydia and Cade remained still in the car, the only sound being their heavy breathing.  After a few minutes, Cade picked up Nydia’s clothes and threw them at her, his voice slightly hoarse as he said, “Don’t take the pill.”  Nydia simply nodded, too tired to speak. ‘Not taking the pill?‘ she thought. ‘Risk getting pregnant and then being abandoned?‘ Nydia wasn’t foolish; she knew bringing a child into a loveless marriage would be a tragedy. Moreover, with Cade’s bad temper, the safety of the child was questionable.  Cade glanced at her flushed face, a smirk playing on his lips. “You seemed to enjoy that.”  Blushing, Nydia grabbed her clothes and hit him. “Get out. I need to get dressed.”  Cade chuckled and said, “Go back with me. Let someone else take care of Lance.”  Nydia restrained her urge to refuse and obediently nodded. “Okay.”  Her unusual reaction made Cade narrow his eyes. “What are you up to?”  Ignoring him, Nydia averted her gaze, but he grasped her chin, forcing her to meet his eyes. His gaze was unwavering, trying to decipher her intentions, but she remained composed, revealing nothing.  “Don’t play tricks, or I’ll make you regret it,” he warned coldly, releasing her.  Nydia smiled. “I was upset yesterday when I mentioned divorce. Today, I realized how foolish I was. How could I leave you and miss out on the wealth and status of being Mrs. Jackson?” At the same time, she thought, ‘Yes, I am playing tricks. I not only intend to expose your infidelity online but also to claim a share of your money!”  Cade’s expression softened, clearly convinced by Nydia’s vanity. With a cold snort, he said, “Consider yourself lucky,” before grabbing his clothes and leaving the car.  As he departed, Nydia’s smile was replaced by a cold expression. She needed to gather evidence quickly to proceed with the divorce.  After a brief rest, Nydia got dressed and opened the car door to find Stuart approaching. He informed her that someone was already looking after Lance and offered to drive her back.  Knowing she was unable to go back to Lance’s ward, Nydia glared at him and slammed  Chapter 57  the door shut.  Stuart calmly took the driver’s seat and drove back to Silent Court. Upon arriving,  Nydia immediately went upstairs to look for her medication, only to realize it was likely stored away by Dara.  Returning downstairs, Nydia found Stuart sitting on the sofa. Seeing her coming down, he stood up and calmly said, “It’s too late now. I’m afraid it’ll be a little dangerous to go home alone, so I’ll stay here.”  Nydia was taken aback by his words. They just sounded too absurd. She knew Cade was doing this to prevent her from taking the pill.  Dara, unaware of the situation, cheerfully offered to prepare the guest room for Stuart to spend the night. Nydia, frustrated, glared at him and went upstairs.  Nydia attempted to sneak out late at night, but Stuart’s keen hearing thwarted her every time. After 72 long hours of his persistent vigilance, Nydia eventually resigned herself to the thought that she wouldn’t get pregnant so easily.  Since that night, Nydia had not seen Cade again, which didn’t align well with her plans. Sho  inquired with Stuart, who mentioned that Cade had been busy with an overseas. project but would make time to return soon.  Nydia speculated that his return was likely in preparation for the annual Global Economic Summit in Mewarting City, where she, as the wife of Jackson Group’s CEO, was also on the guest list.  Nydia readily agreed to attend. Such a global event offered ample exposure, aligning perfectly with her plan to publicize their relationship. The more sensational, the better, as it would allow her to take advantage of public opinion.  Lance was ready to be discharged. Nydia drove to pick him up and encountered. Josephine while completing the discharge formalities.  Upon seeing Nydia, Josephine involuntarily clenched her fists.  Nydia ignored her hostility and greeted her, “When are you coming back to work, Josephine?”  Nydia’s greeting felt more like a provocation. Josephine’s face paled, but she managed a smile. “Cade already approved my return; he just didn’t want me to get too tired.”  Chapter 37  “Is that so?” Nydia nodded knowingly, “Well, congratulations.” She was about to leave when she thought of Tanya’s words, causing her to stop in her tracks.  Josephine was puzzled by Nydia’s sudden turn and narrowed her eyes warily. “What are you up to?”  Nydia tossed her hair with a smile, “Don’t worry, I was just wondering if you should go. out and get some fresh air, especially since you’ve been unwell. Next week, there’s the Global Economic Summit in Mewarting City. Mr. Jackson and I will be there. Will you join us?”  As Nydia assumed, Josephine wouldn’t just sit back upon hearing that she and Cade were traveling together. Josephine immediately raised her chin and snorted. “Of course, Cade already mentioned he wanted me to accompany him.”  Josephine was lying, Cade had never discussed this with her. However, she believed that she could manipulate Cade into agreeing, just like last time when Cade initially ignored. her but rushed to her side when she fainted.  Nydia chuckled. “Great, we can be travel companions then.”  Josephine  rolled her eyes at her and retorted, “I don’t want to go with you.”  “We’re both unfamiliar with Mewarting City, so having a companion would be more interesting,” Nydia suggested, thinking it would provide ample opportunities to gather evidence.  Josephine had never been to Mewarting City and knew Cade wouldn’t be able to accompany her 24/7. Despite this, she refused to go with Nydia, not wanting to create chances for Nydia and Cade to interact. 

Chapter 56  “You only need to do two things. First, show your husband unconditional love and create a facade of deep affection for him in public to garner female empathy in future public relations battles,” Tanya snicl.  Nydia was taken aback by this proposal, not expecting the second one would be more astonishing.  “Second,” Tanya continued, “gather evidence of your husband’s infidelity–photos, videos, preferably taken when they are in bed.”  Nydia’s eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Tanya. Either pretending to be affectionate with Cade or capturing him in bed with Josephine seemed impossible to her. Cade didn’t love her, so how could she have the opportunity to show affection? As for capturing evidence of his infidelity, how would she know when he was in bed with Josephine?  “It’s a bit difficult, Nydia admitted truthfully.  Tanya smiled, casually showing Nydia some photos Nydia had posted on their fifth wedding anniversary.  “You can do it.” Tanya put her phone away. “Try to please him and make extra effort in maintaining the image of Mrs. Jackson. It’s not that hard, right?”  Her words were blunt but accurate. The unequal beginning destined Nydia to be the weaker one, and she had indeed tried to please Cade for five years without a word of complaint. She strictly followed his rules, behaved herself, maintained his image in front of the media, and dutifully played the role of the dignified “Mrs. Jackson.” However, from the moment Josephine entered the company, she suddenly felt exhausted from continuing the act. It would only make her a clown.  Tanya had exposed the nature of her marriage, but Nydia didn’t feel embarrassed at all. She chuckled. “So it’s about showing more love for him than before, right?” However, she had just broken up with Cade yesterday, and now she had to “love” him. again. Would he think she was crazy? Then, she realized that in Cade’s eyes, she was just a woman without self–respect. Going back to cling to him would fit his perception of her true colors.  Now, there was only one issue left–gathering evidence of Cade’s infidelity. Baseless. accusations wouldn’t work, as the public had become immune to rumors about Cade over the years. She needed solid evidence, like photos, as Tanya had suggested–a conclusive piece of evidence.  But how could she get photos of them in bed? Nydia couldn’t just keep an eye on Gade every day, could she?  “The second point is the key to winning this divorce case and will be the most difficult. Whatever it takes, you must obtain it.” Tanya said, hinting at using unethical methods if necessary to obtain the photos.  Nydia tensed up, looking visibly uneasy. Tanya could see her wavering. “Miss Sharp, I know this won’t be easy. If you’re not determined enough, you’ll be dumped by your husband and lose everything.”  Tanya put away the documents. Nydia nodded. “Alright, I’ll do my best.”  Nydia returned to the hospital, feeling uneasy. Lance was asleep, so she quietly sat beside him. After half an hour, she took out her phone, ready to send a WhatsApp message to Cade when Lance stirred, causing her to delete it.  Another half hour passed before Nydia let out a sigh. She decided to go upstairs to mend her relationship with Cade and perhaps gather some evidence of his infidelity.  Josephine was staying in the top VIP ward, and the floor was quiet with only a few nurses passing by in the corridor.  Standing at the door, Nydia hesitated for a while, preparing to knock when a man’s cold voice behind her asked, “What are you doing here?”  Nydia composed herself and put on a bright smile. Slowly turning around, she softly  23  Chapter 56  greeted, “Mr. Jackson.”  Cade seemed taken aback by her sudden change in tone, showing disdain. “You were crazy about divorce yesterday, and now you come to see me. Are you out of your mind?”  Nydia ignored his insults. She knew she had to keep up the facade of affection. She flashed a smile, took his arm, and said, “I missed you and wanted to see you.”  Cade found her words utterly hypocritical, but he played along. He smirked. “Really? How much did you miss me?”  Nydia was caught off guard, as she hadn’t actually missed him. But with the divorce settlement tempting her, she was determined to continue the act. “I missed you so much,” she said as she grabbed his tic, rose on her tiptoes, and kissed him on the lips.  Cade’s eyes widened for a moment. Nydia’s excessive passion overwhelmed him, leaving him no chance to retreat. He took control, wrapping his arm around her waist, pressing the elevator button to the garage floor as they kissed.  Struggling to keep her balance, Nydia leaned on him. In the past, she would have avoided such public displays of affection, but now she wanted as many witnesses as possible. She hoped for photos or videos to circulate online, showing the CEO of Jackson Group and his wife getting intimate in the hospital.  Unfortunately, her plan failed as no one saw them.  Stuart opened the rear car door, setting the stage for what followed.  With a plan in her mind, Nydia took the lead this time, gradually losing her control.
